I wasn't able to keep up with all the information but read something about John Deere one or two days ago on HotCopper.
The first article is in Spanish, but I'll highlight what caught my attention immediately.
If this was shown already by someone else, just ignore it.

"Este nuevo modelo tiene seis pares de cámaras estéreo alrededor del vehículo para ayudar con la detección de objetos, que luego es procesada por una red neuronal local."

-->It says, that six stereo cameras that are mounted in every direction of the tractor detect objects, which are processed in a local neuromorphic network.

In the second article (this time in German) it is mentioned, that they trained the artificial intelligence by using more than 50 million pictures.
Moreover, does this article mention that the system itself decides whether the machine is supposed to keep on driving if it detects an obstacle or if it's supposed to stop.
