You say the TGA focuses only on the science. I might point out the head of the TGA Mr Skerritt, begs to differ.

In September the TGA boss, John Skerritt, admitted that ( the delay in test approvals ) had been deliberate, as the regulator waited for a “signal” from the federal government." This signal was not at all about 'focusing on science', in the manner you claim.
This relates to AT1 from the perspective of very slow approval, quite slow and frustrating for holders.

Thirdly, I have posted an article here, posted again below, where a CEO of a company that imports millions of rapid tests shows us why having tests made abroad can be problematic. Not a deal breaker, but problematic.


Therefore, it means Australia must do more to ensure that local manufacturers and designers ( AT1 ) are supported as a matter of urgency. The Prime minister himself has described antigen tests as being 'a precious resource'.
