Thank you Spec_hope for monitoring this manipulation and exposing it to public view. Contrary to other expressed views, there is much than can be done to restore a genuine market. It seems that someone, or a lot of us, needs to complain to ASIC or APRA or both but it may not be worth complaining to the ASX before any action is taken. Even if no action is taken at this stage it may well be that this behaviour will surface as a very relevant factor before the Takeovers Panel as unacceptable behaviour. Playing ping pong with tiny numbers of shares with a view to pointing out later to how low the CHN shares have been traded is not exactly cricket. The customary premium is 33 per cent for a takeover bid or thereabouts. Say $13 for starters?
