"What culture we're they fighting for?

I came to Australia in 1982. Seems to me the culture of the place has improved leaps and bounds since then."

Hmmmm....sad. Weren't here prior and yet you say it has improved.

Aspects like this were never a part of our 'culture'.

    Race riots...

The cleric, Samir Abu Hamza, reportedly questioned how rape can exist within marriage, saying men have a right to force their wives to have sex....

Oh and the "new" phenomenon...car jacking, pulling women out of cars by their hair and others at knife and gunpoint. Nice, very nice. I won't mention the race of the people though, I would then get called "racist".

We used to be a proud country where mates stuck up for mates and women and old people were (in the main) safe to walk the streets and our aged were respected, not beaten as they walked to the shops. Times have changed dramatically, and not for the better.

Welcome to the post "improved leaps and bounds" 1982 era!

Australia is being taken for one big ride. Illegal immigrants are just that, illegal. They should be treated under the same laws we are, both in Australia and elsewhere.

The only "crud" is what Prime Minister Rudd did by taking on a problem that was not ours in the first place thereby making it our problem.

By very nature an extremely tolerant person. Now working in another country where I definately needed to be or suffer the consequences. I am anything but "racist" but I don't believe what has happened to Australia is an "improvement". The country I am now in would not tolerate what we let happen right under our noses. Does that then make them "racist"?

I am not against legal immigration, but I am dead set against illegal immigrants and us having to be more tolerant of others 'ways' when they clearly don't give a damn about ours and our laws.
