    Well, great notes on thread.
Sierra, if your'e backing those that may be apart of the group defacing Gunns chairman's private dwelling, i need NO further comment on your un-proven claims on Gunns progress, and future plans. I, like many others, would not tolerate such stressful (to the occupants ~ in this case, our Chairman and his wife) behaviour!
Assuming you aren't party to this (and your confirmation would be appreciated), I'll comment on some aspects:

"Food Bowl replaced by forest" ~ which area we talking about? My knowledge is the north-west coast primarily, and this is still thriving well as vegetable capital of Aus?

Utilising minor water supply to provide mega power for mill + City of Launceston ~ something wrong about that??

Utilising waste timber that is currently loaded on to ships and sent o'seas, to come back value added to Aus? What's wrong with us value-adding it here!

Proposing a World-class mill here on our shores ~ what's wrong with that!

Placing the Mill in the 'heart' of an already commercial zone at an already established shipping zone, with access to the Current Oil-Fired 'reserve' Power Supply, (assume Gunns Mill excess will be linked into the current grid) ~ what's wrong with that!

Have you considered the 'soil-erosion' in Sweden and those other countries that have produced far more than our timber industry, decade apon decade, generation after generation (Sodra - who have had discussions with Gunns - has some 50,000 farmers as it's shareholders!)?

Man, we do need to understand basic facts.
Driving round Vic today, and seeing the massive amount of timber frames going up - housing generally, but also on the commercial aspect, I wonder what those in opposition are really on about! All that timber was cut from trees, which wasted remnants would probably have gone over-seas!
I also see where Gunns and ITC timber profits / turnover is going, and am a happy holder!

Bring ON the clean, green, milling machine!

    Cheers :)
