A good point, and I recall numerous occasions where Brazillian miners had to pause production because of various issues (as you've mentioned). However, when a company, such as Vale deceptively refuses to change their guidance knowing of the real negative impact on final production numbers, won't it eventually bite them in the ass anyway since they will have delivered BELOW guidance or target? I don't see the benefit of lying or being irrationally positive when the numbers will eventually come out anyway.
Delivering below guidance - now that's going to hurt your SP.
