I understand the passion of Brainchippers as I am one, but I urge people to not be so dismissive of others when they present an alternate view (blatant downramping excluded).
It's a little premature to dismiss Loihi as 'just a research chip, they have no product' etc etc. One thing about Intel is that they have MONEY AND RESOURCES on a scale that Brainchip does not, so Loihi
will be a tangible product in the future. Yes, we are leading right now, but we must be ever vigilant to stay up to date with our competitors so as to stay ahead of them i.e. patents. And really, if we're competing with Intel, then that's a good problem to have.
Did you know Intel and Ford are collaborating? I didn't. Whilst Ford and BRN have had collaboration, we do not know yet how far those dealings went and if Akida will be used beyond an EAP kit. I certainly hope so, but it makes sense for Ford (and other companies) to talk to everyone in the field before they decide which product to go with. Obviously, Brainchip is at the front of the line because they have a working tangible product, but none of us here work in the neuromorphic computing division at Intel so we really have no idea how far along they really are. Just keep your eyes open, is all im saying.
