    Yes the chances of mutation will greatly multiply simply because there are more hosts .

    It also amuses me that anti vaxxers go on about the long term effects of a vaccine yet never mention the known long term effects we now see from "Long Covid".

    It is only luck that the Omicron strain of the virus is 18 times more infectious and not deadlier than Delta.

    For a virus to survive its code has to be able to infect a new host then transmit to another host . Whether the host dies from the infection isnt really that important if the virus replicates then is easily transmissible.

    The host dying before retransmission of the virus is poor coding and is self selecting for failure . That line of virus would die out with the host.

    And now we are giving it more chances to mutate .
