    My Dear Sector !

Not that the author, Christopher Centano, of that article had a better suggestion heh ?
    https://casetext.com/admin-law/christopher-centeno

I suggest you read up on his claims for “autologous therapy” of the intervertebral disc….in the court case notes…not that there are any conflicts of course . He seems rather keen on stem cells in a subsequent court case …don’t you think? As you like to say…”mwahahahahaha” XX

Regenexx….have a history of propagating claims against allogenic MSCs…like this one clearly stated in one of their patent applications …see link below.

“While MSC’s have been traditionally considered immune privileged, recent investigations have demonstrated their activation of the natural killer cell system in a foreign host. (Spaggiari, Capobianco et al. 2006). This makes the use of non autologous cells difficult, as it is anticipated that the host’s immune system will attack these foreign cells and potentially decimate the population of transplanted MSCs, thus severely limited there repair capabilities”

In the same patent application they are even quoting the findings of Caplan as having an alternate procedure to their own for isolating bone marrow from the iliac crest !!!……but definitely no conflicts emerging heh Sector…

Please someone pass me some Valium ..joke ED

In the right circumstances autologous therapies can be very effective….but the criticisms like the one highlighted above look very misguided post the finding of Mesoblasts phase 3 trial.

Let me be clear about one thing which he did get right…reversing the damaging effects of inflammation does not mean Mesoblast can reverse the fibrosis…that is a step too far for a rapidly degenerative disease. The same applies to cardiac fibrosis in the Dream CHF trial. However, neither does his treatment either as far as I am aware …which he is so keen on. Maybe he would like to go head to head with an autologous treatment versus an allogenic one. I hope so because it would be good to an end to all this nonsense.

I can’t believe you keep falling for it. Seriously, get a life ! We are treating patients in the Phase 3 trial with back pain so advanced their only real alternative choice is interventional surgery like spinal fusion. Alternatively,If you think that an adequate treatment, is to prescribe long term use of opioids or steroids or hard painkillers increasingly associated with liver damage( approx half of the patient population) ..you are an extraordinary individual. Try living a life on opioids . Try having a drink, safely pursuing a career or even operating any electrical equipment ….before I even mention your mental health. Look at the cost to society.
Personally I have suffered from chronic lower back pain …and have already had three Steroid injections in my facet joints…the pain was crippling and my condition is still not serious enough for this treatment. Long term use of Non Steroidal anti inflammatory drugs , which are often first line therapy have obviously been tried as have most other medications and interventions BEFORE they are allowed to have our treatment. IF you had bothered reading the enrolment criteria for Mesoblast’s clinical trial you would have known that too…instead you are happy to highlight some really observations from someone advocating a competing therapy for his work !

    https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT02412735
Just so you don’t perpetuate any more ridiculous comments..please read the enrolment criteria in the link above….all other mainstream therapies and treatments have been tired before people received the cells from Mesoblast .

There also appears a few imaginary sniggers? contained in your post about the fact that saline was used in the control .when the benefits of saline injections have been widely reported over many years as having almost/equal clinical effect in comparison with other many widely use alternatives….but I doubt you were aware of that either !

    https://bjsm.bmj.com/content/55/5/256
    https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28027657/

One thing you will observe from the meta analysis provided in the link above is that the benefit of saline has limited durability even when used in the spinal column….as evidenced from the widening efficacy gap between both our treatments and the saline control group at three years.

Lastly, lets get down to business. Mesoblast’s treatment does not appear to have any real question marks over it, which is why they have been granted a pretty straightforward approval pathway for their 2nd trial for the FDA….or do you dispute that as well ?
The back pain treatment is a simple procedure involving 6m cells being injected in an outpatient clinic for at least 3 years major pain relief avoiding spinal fusion surgery. What is not to like about that?
Oh , did I forget to mention we are likely to help thousands from committing suicide every year by helping a significant percentage of patients off long term opioid use medication …. OP
