I don't want to rant, but the PowerBuoy looks stupid! It floats on the surface (exposed to the worst weather elements), it produces electicity off shore (undersea power cables - which I thought no one really liked), it contains the generating system and a big bunch of other moving parts all off shore as well (difficult to maintain). Perhaps the CETO looked too simple that they thought it couldn't possibly be as good as something that looks so cool - maybe they WANT people to be able to see the technology, like wind turbines, so they can say, 'look at what we've done'.
OK, rant over. Anyone else have any opinions about PowerBuoy? (And, yes, I want to hear angry, biased opinions!)
