    Then you set a precedent that ministerial discretion can be used for a whole range of matters and can overrule a court of law. It is a very slippery slope when a government minister can overrule a lawful decision by an appointed judge. When that decision by the minister is based on public perception and "How many votes can I get" then it makes a mockery of our legal system. It should only ever be used in extreme cases. This is not one of them.
