I think we are getting close to a point when they may want to cover, but unfortunately don't know at what prices most short were placed. Perhaps someone else here knows how to find out?
Average daily trading volume is around 6m shares, but it's possibly the same 1-3m shares that gets traded several times. A bit simplistic, but up to 30m is a fair bit to cover. Interesting times ahead.
