Not a bad suggestion - whilst most critical services such as hospitals etc would have back up generators, Bluegen offers the opportunity for smaller shops and restaurants that would be carrying potentially thousands of dollars worth of perishable goods to insure these against power outage related loss.

I am also unsure of the insurance policies relating to such situations, but if the policy did cover loss of goods due to power outages, then there would be a strong case to have cheaper policies if you had a Bluegen installed... just some more musings about the broader implications of distributed generation...
