Bit slow on the uptake Stan. If you had been watching closely you will see my name is Billy not silly. Check it out here - https://hotcopper.com.au/posts/58775887/single

Energy might be changing but one thing that will not change is human nature in the markets. There will be a runs on rare earth stocks and anything associated with green energy and I have taken appropriate positions.

As far as the article goes BP hopes to have 500k chargers in place all relying on fossil fuels to power them, that is off course that we don't go nuclear.

I'll be interested to see how EV electronics hold up especially the charging systems and what the additional roadworthy costs will be be to ensure these systems are in good working order. Packing that much energy that quickly in a small container is fraught with danger and not without risk. Furthermore, I wonder how EVs would have performed in the current winter storms hitting the northern hemisphere. (I wonder if we will start hearing stories about EV performance problems) If engineers can solve that significant problem then it might be a game changer. The trouble being that the laws of physics can be hard to shift. Reality check here - https://www.greencars.com/post/how-cold-weather-affects-electric-cars

There is a place for EVs no doubt but there will be limitations on their use and they will not be the panacea that everyone thinks they will be for a cleaner planet.

One thing I will add so to be clear I am not against smart solutions and being a farmer it is in my interest to have a cleaner planet. I am critical of the ideology that drives the left's policies which is proving to be a global failure and leaving the world in an unsafe condition.

    Cheers
    BW
