One thing I am a little concerned about is the degree to which a commercial scale plant can be tested in the absence of a realistic load. My suspicion is that you can't easily provide an appropriate dummy load for a 25 MW generator.

I am not enough of an engineer to know if a 25 MW plant can be tested to the satisfaction of either engineers or financial analysts without a grid connection or other power user. The township of Innamincka would have to buy a lot of neon lights and freezers to use up 25 MW!

I think the possibility of a 25 MW plant that has been test run but which cannot be run continuously until the investment is made in the transmission is quite real.

Anyone understand power engineering enough to give us a read on this? Maybe a question for the AGM.
