A smart move noting the rest of the industry is also doing it.
I wouldn't be surprised if the temporary levy becomes permanent over time reflective of increased underlying costs - probably rolled into base container shipping charges rather than a dedicated levy.
Does anyone know how many containers per year this will apply to?
