Rather than "asking" for a cheque MEL is "accepting" cheques, but clearly by offering the BPay facility as well MEL is catering to the many, and judging by these threads, the favoured way of participating.

Correct, all SPPs accept cheque payment, not to do so would be to dis-enfranchise those who still don't use internet banking, and would be as silly as ESG not offering BPay.
