Good to see those on the DT thread observing the minutes silence

in the world we live in today of money greed investing financial crisis sometimes we forget the high price paid by some for our freedoms

"People should not only remember those who lost their lives in wars on Remembrance Day, but also those survivors who were left damaged by their experiences, RSL state president Don Rowe says.

Australians will observe a minute of silence at 11am on Wednesday, to mark 91 years since the armistice was signed to end World War I.

Mr Rowe said people should remember those who were left damaged by war, particularly Vietnam veterans, many of whom were still traumatised.

"These are the real victims of war, those who are living but still enduring the hellish nightmares that resulted from service to the nation," Mr Rowe said in a statement.

"We must never forget them - we must never neglect them."

Ceremonies will be held at war memorials across NSW, including Sydney's Cenotaph in Martin Place."
