Re; ..." ... never underestimate the sheer MASSIVE size of the United States economy....and above all, its resilience. ..."

I could not agree more & despite all the doom from Prechter, Soros, Faber and Shiller; as well as our own Long, Minack, Keen etal; it has been the US's recovery story that has kept me trading long positions - in addition to the US's demonstrated capacity for innovation & renewal of course.

I must also admit to admiring the US for tackling some of the corporate excesses, corruption & market practices of ponzi schemes, hedge funds, dark pools etc. IMO it's a pity Australia has done so little in this regard - we even seem content to allow the Future Fund to move our hard-earned savings to the Canary Islands.

Re; "PS: you must be sweating it out in the Mildura heatwave??" ... Wodonga is home & my house handles the heat well despite the lack of a mongombolo pool. Must admit to being a bit concerned about late Summer given the heat already upon us in Spring though!
