it gets harder than that


when you have a perpetrator - you know for certain -------------- and, you have to let the small kid go home with them


that's hard -------------------- that's the hardest thing I ever had to do


the kids who are bashed from a very young age - develop some really interesting protective strategies - even as babies - amazingly enough

I can't find what I'm looking for - I did research on this stuff a long time back when working with kids - but, I can tell you that many of the young ones who are abused - are super cute - they have the baby seal eyes - the whole bit - it's a defense thing that says facially 'I'm cute and no danger, please don't hit me'

sorry I can't find the refs ---------------- this one shows that there are facial changes - it sort of infers the opposite - but, the one's I worked with weren't even toddlers

try sending something that you hold in your arms and looks seal cute home with the one who did the damage - and, you can't say anything, do anything - then, you experience powerlessness ----------- ++++++
hardest thing I've ever had to do - and no, I wasn't a copper - it must be dreadful for them
