I still think IT is inexperience in the marketing side
In Asia, all the major oil companies are hungry for gas & LNG - he is lookiing at the traditional majors - they are not keen to come into Crux (still consider a small project by their standard)
Get ride of him - and bring a new experience guy in (I am sure with $1.25m package you can get a top gun in)
