Great position for BIT to be in.

I have owned biotech shares for 10 years - in fact, BIT was the first biotech share I owned - had 2mil at one stage. Probably involved myself with 12 or so biotech companies over the last decade.

I own shares in just two biotechs now and have basically specialised in the cancer field - one is a pure spec share (interestingly, because of the success in trials with mice which were outstanding. The other I am in fairly deep and they are up to human trials - with cancer now absent in the odd patient after two years.

I originally got enthused with BIT when they announced they had the "cure" for HepC and that they were on the way to doing the same with HIV. They had some toxicity issues but I believed that getting HIV nailed was a great goal - as well as being a chance of getting great profits on my investment. I became jaded and, maybe a bit concerned, that if, the compounds BIT had were so good, why had they not linked up with a partner and why the compounds had not been snapped up for commercialisation.

All biotechs have their red and green flags. If I have one complaint about BIT - and it is the only one - it would be that they "oversell" their products and use the word "cure" way too loosely.

I do think that BIT has a good deal of promise with HIV in particular - still think that gives BIT reason to be taken seriously.

As I alluded to though, COVID is a crowded space. Big pharmas will only get interested with truly spectacular human trial results. Too early to call if BIT will come out in front of the pack with COVID - just too many companies chasing the same thing. I also think that COVID is a side show compared to the serious issue with HIV - and that is not trivialising COVID and its effects in any way.

I do hope that BIT is successful in either of its endeavours.
