    Frank Holloway .....

Raises a lot of interesting points so I gave it a like though I confess to not agreeing with a lot .

I agree , there are inherent problems with democracy but even worse (Churchills comment) with other forms of govt ..
China had a very efficient form of govt for a couple of decades but was always open to someone like Xi gaining enough power to stay as long as he wants and do what he wants .(Too open to abuse .)
N0-one likes military dictatorships and true communism has ben shown to not work .

The limits are an interesting point but such a waste to chuck good guys out .
In ancient Athens a new leader (basically a chairman) was chosen by lot DAILY and they (all) voted on everything !

Banning parties takes us back to the first few years of Oz federation where there was only loose affiliations and not sure it was that great a system .
Banning factions within parties would be great but probably impractical .
    Banning donations forces underground .

God help us if we ever get to the state of affairs in the US where they are hugely partisan , polarised and at least for the Republicans where the end justifies the means and power way ahead of voting mandates as a priority .

But thanks for the interesting ideas !
