I vaguely remember looking at Tjamp..in Ubud....you'd know that great restaurant on the ravine beside the bridge that's been there for ever and a day . When I first went to Ubud the SE Asia in shoestring only listed about four places you could get food...one was a lean to on the side of Monkey Forest Rd that speciality was red beans run by a lady called Okawati...years later when went back Okawatis lean to was several storeys of hotel with pool and had a fantastic restaurant surrounded by rice padis with fire flies at night...had a great chat with her about the old days and a couple of crazy locals from that time...and every trip we stay up there a few days and go to her restaurant.....was so disappointed last time we went to Ubud...they'd gone economic rationalism and closed the restaurant to put up more holiday units..killed my interest in Ubud except for the odd day trip...
