you make a series of factual errors here Iwonder..... yes, hundreds of family clans, hundreds of languages.... but a unified culture that used oral history and inter-relationships between numerous clans within cooee, which was around a 200 km radius.

but how could first Australians respect a culture that invaded violently, caused major epidemics everywhere whites went, murdered 90% of Aboriginal people, imprisoned them in religious prisons, fed them rubbish flour, tea, sugar and grog and forbad them to find their natural food sources until they forgot many of the skills they had known....

it was not a utopia before invasion but it was their country and culture and laws. they has heritage claims and practiced farming/fishing and animal husbandry.

they had wars and other conflicts just as any other culture did but had a form of justice which meant that wars were quickly resolved and opposed clans could corroboree until the wallabies and goannas ran out.

they had an extensive religion which provided them guidance and respect for their ancestors.

    they were their own people.

try reading with respect for their culture and people and see how others see this history.... try listening to these people telling their stories..... just simply try respecting these people as you would want them to respect you.
