Amac: your advice seems spot on to me. You have obviously analysed the divorce process (twice) and drawn some learned conclusions.

I'm only a single divorcaranto. Second marriage is certainly more about friendship/companionship over love/lust. Helps if you meet someone with equalish assets.

Not too sure about the legal accuracy of some of the divvy comments made earlier in the thread. Complex area; as a rule pre-nups aren't worth the paper they are written on. Too many post-signature variables. Best rule: always strike a private (no cost) split arrangement. Better than a whack of it going in legal costs. (Be gracious in defeat) Family Courts only interested in kids welfare; always sort that out first.

And me? Married a pauper first time around. Live and learn. Second (and final) time around; married my solicitor. Married into common interests, worldview and compatible intellect. Works well; enduring (bit like a mutual power-of-attorney,lol).

To those about to launch into "it"....avoid cynicism (at all levels) and you'll do fine.
