At the 2021 Ai Field Day Anil Mankar tried to make the point that up to 1 million AKD1000 chips it is probably reasonable economically speaking for someone to buy the chip from Brainchip. Over this number they would point out to the customer the benefits economically speaking which would flow to the customer by licensing the IP and incorporating it into their own chip.

The point @BarrelSitter was making I think was that as the Mercedes vehicle was a concept it would not make economic sense for Mercedes to licence the IP for a few million when they could just buy half a dozen or so AKD1000 chips at $25.00 a pop.

I think someone posted that Mercedes produce 7.2 million vehicles a day so as they would likely need more than one AKD1000 chip they are clearly better served when in full production to buy an IP licence.

The same applies to companies building prototypes or proof of concepts AKD1000 first then IP licence.
