My family settled here over 200 years ago... worked the land to help drive growth & prosperity in this country.
So this Wednesday we will be celebrating Australia Day as we have every other year.
The celebration of Australia Day still seems to be strong in rural areas, but perhaps less so in the cities.
With so many 'new Australians' & the promotion of multiculturalism, the 'invasion day' rhetoric and flaky leadership by our politicians, it's not hard to see how the celebration of Australia Day has 'dissipated'.
Shame really... where has our national pride gone? For me it feels like Australia is slowly slipping into the toilet bowl.
btw... changing the date for Australia Day won't solve anything.
There will always be someone unhappy with a change. I would be one.
