the invasion happened, colonisation happened, serious and serial abuses happened etc..... right up to the present day. history includes 10 minutes ago.
the last 240 years have devastated the culture and people and left tremendous damage. this needs to be recognised as a genuine component of Aus history that we cannot alter but can change via future management.
the first Aussies have made their request politely, intelligently, moderately.... they deserve the respect to be listened to at the very least.
