You acquired covid, most likely Omicron. Unlike the last two years where infections were largely under control in the community and those infected had the previous strain which is far less transmissible and against which the vaccines were more effective, Omicron is much more infectious, is completely out of control with the number of those currently infected is orders of magnitude higher than at any time previously and the vaccines are not as effective in combating it.
However, being double vaccinated, you likely have far less severe symptoms than otherwise and may have avoided hospitalisation.
