Details of the ALP Spin Chief, appointed to NBN, in an article in today’s Brisbane Times, revealing his interesting background.

    Extracts from the article ….

Queensland Premier Anna Bligh's chief of staff has been appointed to a senior role for the company charged with rolling out the federal government's national broadband network (NBN).
Mike Kaiser, who also served as chief of staff to former NSW premier Morris Iemma, has been named as principal of government relations and external affairs for NBN Co.
He will begin in the role on December 1.

Mr Kaiser was the Labor member for the Queensland state seat of Woodridge from 2000 to 2001, when he resigned after admitting during the Shepherdson inquiry to involvement in vote rigging in ALP ballots in the 1980s.

NBN Co executive chairman Mike Quigley said Mr Kaiser's background would ensure NBN Co effectively engages with all levels of government and local communities.

"A key early focus for Mr Kaiser will be identifying opportunities for various utility operators across Australia to participate with NBN Co in the roll-out of our network," Mr Quigley said.
"Mr Kaiser's understanding of these operations, their infrastructure and their service delivery approaches makes him a valuable addition to the NBN team."

Deputy Opposition Leader Lawrence Springborg described Mr Kaiser's appointment to NBN Co as a "Rudd refuge for a Labor rat", and another example of "jobs for mates" in Labor.
"Kaiser, who's been looked after for years and years, came to Anna's office from his failures in the ... NSW government," Mr Springborg said in a statement.
"He's failed again, only to be looked after again by his Labor mates."

Mr Springborg said Mr Kaiser had earned about $350,000 with the Bligh government and questioned his suitability for the new job. "What has Mike Kaiser got on Kevin Rudd to deserve this special deal?
"Moreover, what qualifications in digital communication will Kaiser bring to his new role, apart from spinning and distributing Labor lies?

    Comment…..

All his many qualities will be required to plaster over the gaping holes in NBN Co.
Coming on today’s article in The Weekend Australian, re Support for Rudd Govt weakening in key areas in Queensland – it means they must be worrying.
