Welcome to the ASX, aka The Wild West. Anything goes, and that's been the case for more years than I care to remember.
The playing field for institutional vs. retail investors (aka us plebs) was reasonably level maybe 10-15 years ago, but has gradually tilted more and more in their favour. These days it's just about vertical - bots manipulating prices on most stocks, setting the open and closing prices, you name it.
IMHO this has made it almost impossible for small traders to day trade profitably (ie..e intra-day trading), so the only option is finding a high quality stock with good prospects and holding long term. Hence CNB.....
