Not to mention the fact that WPL has so far been one of the real winners in 2022 and by the time the shares are allocated this might be even more the case.
BHP shareholders may be looking at a WPL that has just posted record profits, paid a thumping dividend causing a sp surge, on the eve of further surges due to a US listing and local re-weightings and just announced a massive Sangomar deal .....ok so I’m getting a bit excited ....but what I’m saying is it will depend what WPL is doing right around the time the shares fall into the hands of BHP shareholders (and Meg does have some control over announcements in and around that time)
BHP shareholder offloads may well be minuscule if they feel they’ve just been handed the standout ‘must have’ stock of 2022.
