If you are going to compare to CFS you need to compare to the npat they were earning in past and the npat kkr thought they could generate. To some extent the FUM is not relevant. It is one of the rough metrics but on its own the least relevant.
I have tried to figure out what npat was but am not sure. I think it may have been $240m but could have dropped to $180m. The kkr purchase values it at about $3.1 billion. So 17 times the $180m. Yes, higher than AMP, but a cleaner result so not a great surprise including a takeover premium.
