Maybe I am overthinking about this but my thoughts are below:
What is intriguing though is the word "systems" (plural) used in the wording used by Mercedes.
"Working with California-based artificial intelligence experts BrainChip, Mercedes-Benz engineers developed systems based on BrainChip’s Akida hardware and software. The example in the VISION EQXX is the “Hey Mercedes” hot-word detection. Structured along neuromorphic principles, it is five to ten times more efficient than conventional voice control."
The fact that they are mentioning "the example in the vision eqxx"- could it be that for the Vision EQXX platform that they are using it for "Hey Mercedes", but perhaps they are subtly saying that for the rest of the Mercedes fleet they have developed "systems" for other purposes?
