SYD to Santiago in Chile used to be profitable for QAN as the only other feasible competition was LATAM Airlines via AIA (NZ).
QAN was expected to resume flights to South America by the start of April 2022, but has now suspended bookings with no firm start date, although it may become November 2022.
This shows the real state of international travel.
