That chart shows temperature variations of less than one degree around an assumed zero point.
I would be interested in learning how such precise global data was obtained prior to about 1900, because as far as I can determine there was no precise recording of temperature data prior to about 1850 and none on a global scale until at least 1900 and probably more like 1950.
