Not necessarily !! If you are putting up false orders you can pull.. no money needed!!
What we all have to learn is to look at Bids and Offers and the volumes of each "allegded" seller/Buyer against actual volumes going through.. Checking X trades as well!!

Finally if I knew you well I could sell you a mill or so shares and you could cope it sweet and we could square up at the pub!!

Tricks everywhere in smaller low turnover stocks but probably in BHP too ... Just richer mates!!
