nobody is debating the fact that people were warned to shop early, but to suggest that the reason that global retail sales slowed for a consecutive month (up to Christmas), was due to “shopping early” is ridiculous

this would have meant, October (which they provided an update from memory) would have shown huge numbers - this wasn’t the case, as the prior market update showed US TTV starting to appear to slow.

”shopping early for Christmas” is why global sales are down.
