I just can't understand this logic. Maybe I have mental health issues or some misunderstanding. Why would you bet on Magellan as a proxy for investing in its fund?
Why are people betting on Magellan as a means to invest in global equities? It just doesn't work like that.
If you want to buy global equities, go invest in Magellan's fund. Or any other reputable global equity product. The only risk there is beating or not beating the benchmark.
If you want to invest in a fund manager, it comes with a whole host of other associated risks in ADDITION to fund performance (loss of clients, poor execution, competition, fee pressure, revenue concentration risks etc.) Investing in Magellan and investing in global equities are two different things.
