To be honest I wouldn't call them heroes.
The SPP of $40m was barely more than 1% of LTR's market cap at the time (when the SP was $1.65-1.70).
Even the full SPP's quantity is almost negligible for LTR.
I think the people who signed up to the SPP did so when the SP was $1.70+, and wanted more shares of LTR anyway (+ it being at a slight market discount + contributing to the SPP were bonuses). Albeit the trigger may have been pulled a bit too early.
