Back in 2019, Oz and US gov had agreed to collaborate with exploration of critical minerals/materials, and I guess C-19 slowed any action on that front. until early last year. Activity from early 2021 kicked up a gear here in OZ, particularly in the regions close to where quality deposits have been discovered/proven up.

I do note there's some Chinese dollars that have been invested in some of said Oz explorers, but on a minority basis/ Also more Chile (SQM) dollars has found its way down under and invested in an explorer, (hedging their bets??).

It's highly likely Canada will make a decent contribution to US supply, but, its a complicated web due to an abundance of of red-tape for domestic
US and the EU for that matter, even if the politicians had the stomach to push forward legislation to expedite mining projects, in that they would back out if they wanted to remain in office.

Long story short, it appears the US will be happy to exploit other countries to meet their raw material demand, and concentrate their efforts at downstream starting at the refiner all the way down to end product. China is 10 years ahead, so if the US want to catch up, IMO, they will need to invest in current producers to help bring forward expansion plans, and maybe expansion plans greater than already announced, to assist them in catching up, yes it's all about them.

For China, they will somehow make it work in Africa, not by choice, but necessity.

As for the EU, set up in China, and rely on Africa, unable to participate in the morning glory, period.
