You could argue CSL as innovative, however most of their great ideas were from overseas acquisitions. Our miners are world class, however that’s only because we were blessed with natural resources.

Australia has had some innovation success. Atlassian is a great home grown success story. Also BNPL is largely Australian innovation. And it was created under the noses of the big 4 banks with peanuts of seed capital. we should also cut Oz some slack when comparing us to USA which is 10 times our size in population. Compare us to Canada or to California. Our overall standard of living beats USA and you don't want to be in a low percentile and exposed to USA butal version of welfare.
