When automotive companies manufacture cars, a certain % of the vehicle must be manufactured within the country it's being assembled to qualify for government grants and investment. Seeing as though the batteries in EV's take up a large portion of vehicle material and cost, North America is going to be starving for EV and Energy Storage Batteries in the next few years as they ramp up adoption and production.
I know one Gigafactory coming online into fully automated production within the next four months
