Wesfarmers was ahead of the market & looking to partner with Lynas in WA & I think their takeover attempt was genius on many levels & though it never looked like succeeding it probably played a part in securing current extension of LAMP operating license - which was coming under dubious pressure from shadow influencers posing as concerned locals - the politics was fascinating & the left was played by CCP to try & derail LAMP
The fallout was minimal for Lynas (terrible pun!) & massive for Malaysian friends in the CCP as Lynas now partnered with USA DoD !!!
Classic political & economic shenanigans
Imagine if there was just a little bit more collaboration in critical industries instead of war mongering & economic wars
