I haven't noticed any real tendency in the past for the SP to move ahead of announcements. There was the long steady decline leading up to the announcement of production issues and new capital raising in June last year. However, in think this is explainable in terms of the market waiting on an announcement of first laser diode production. As time wore on, I think there was increasing nervousness over how long it was taking, particularly in view of declining cash reserves.

IMO this stock is now just one good announcement away from returning to the 8 - 10c trading band that it was in a year ago, and a lot of people are watching. So there is a bit of a hair trigger effect keeping the SP quite volatile.
