The whole idea of 4DX is to use standard X-rays to try and give an idea of lung function and ventilation to specific areas in the lungs.
A standard chest CT has 600 times the radiation exposure of a simple chest Xray..
It's apples and oranges.
Even a nuclear med VQ study (where the radioactive dye is injected) to determine ventilation perfusion mismatch has about a third the dose of a CT scan (but to the whole body of course).
If 4DX can do what they are claiming to do, it would really be a game changer.
