Yes you are correct, as during the enlightenment atheism marched on religion, to infiltrate and destroy from within, the main march was against the Catholic Church, many popes wrote about this now they have succeeded with this current pope, that's why there is a civil war going on now, and the reason for the sexual abuse, this is the product of that infiltration of the enlightenment, the same who have given us atheist.
