@mechanic - Yes, I do know this - due to my experience in a small-time solicitor's office (30 years ago - I am old), who specialised in shelf companies and did some small-time financing as well. I was an 'innocen't then, could have learnt a lot just from listening, but didn't, was too busy doing their 'bidding' on an old-fashioned computer with mag cards and a computer the size of a washing machine - so quite historic.

Just an example - every Friday 'they' and one of the guys later became notorious - can't say his name on here - would gather for drinks in the office and one of the party was a geologist, who'd rock up to my computer every 3 months or so and then dictate a 'report' to the stock market, and I knew he hadn't been out of the office for days - so no real essays being done etc. - I did ask him once that I had seen him in the office all week and he said, he had his men out in the field . . . . which may have been true.

Many years later, this experience came to haunt me - and I wish I had paid more attention.

I also - then - knew a lot of the local 'names' in the mining business, because of the many shelf companies we produced and later when I began share-trading found all the locals listed, but that was pre 2006 etc. - but the list has vanished. Maybe there is more adherence to rules nowadays, but then it seemed a bit like the Wild West over here in Western Australia, but what did I know then, giving all these people respect, as I earned my living there.

Anywhere, I do not wish to rain on anyone's parade - as I know some start-up companies do come good, but management is of top importance.
