    I disagree simeon08.

I used to be a shareholder and I paid around $2.00 then they needed more cash and I bought some only to find the share settle lower and lower. I think the reality is that this project is a lot further away than I had gained the impression from their announcements a few years ago.

The test plant will be running when?

The new materials are going to withstand the embrittlement. No one has said yes. There are solutions but as yet unproven in this specific environment. The concept works but in this case this well tried management didn't buy the correct casings and the casings failed.

having the test plant operational will be the first real proof - yes you can get proof of concept engineers to certify this and that but in reality I saw the failure of the wells this year as a watershed. Great in concept but another year away from proof. If the small plant was now working reliably it would be different.

The commercial scale demonstration plant will only be up and running in December 2013. That's a long time from now with the 1MW plant running.

IMO I am surprised that Carnegie wasn't given any money on its wave technology given that WA govt has already given them money to develop pilot plant which will be running at end of 2010. I dont own shares in either anymore as I just feel that this whole thing has little real government support. Look at the smh article need a huge amount of power from these sources but by 2020 only around 100MW looks like it will be up and running. The wind issue which can even drive the water up into you desalination plant wont have many sites here if its more profitable to get other governments to support overseas.

IMO neither the Labour or Coalition are truly serious and only want to delay delay delay hoping it becomes someone else's problem.

How can we have these targets if we cannot see any development program that will build these power solutions by then.

I stopped investing in this after I realised that not even at the householder level would the government make it worthwhile. You get a net feed in tariff whilst everyone knows that Solar is twice the cost of coal/gas. So you are asking people to accept a 5/6% return as the net result is always a saving on current costs per KWH which are nowhere near the real cost of production in solar.

So who is making money - the people with a few land titles so that they can build a solar station on a piece of land that has no current need for electricity and thus they can feed in the 10kw as a net and gross feed in. This is often farmers and they will benefit but the you and me of this world dont have two titles wont.

I think you will find more support for these type assets in Europe and USA.
